Now Mumbai Dabbawalas Will Be Seen Delivering For Flipkart

One of the finest supply chain of India, Flipkart has very recently come up with an amazing idea for delivering the good to consumers, it is the tie-up with the Mumbai Dabbawalas, As it is assumed this association is an effort to explore newer delivery channels and opportunities by partnering with this unique community of experts.

The Dabbawalas of Mumbai are very Famous, they have been in the profession of transporting and delivering lunch boxes for almost a Century.
They are very well known for their Management and Business Skills, and are a huge inspiration on how to conduct business without any Database, Paper or administrative back-up to keep the costs down.

In the initial phase of this association, as a partner to eKart, the Dabbawalas (with one union only at this stage) will collect Flipkart marketplace shipments from the delivery centrals and deliver it to the customers - while they pick up their Dabbas.
Currently, They will act just as Last Mile Deliveries thus Dabbawalas will not be interacting with Sellers. and Also they will be given orders to deliver for Prepaid orders, Cash on delivery orders would be rolled out, as this association expands it's wing.

The first batch of Dabbawalas have undergone training at Flipkart’s delivery centers. At this stage, they will be using a paper-based tracking system with the idea being to gradually train them on the usage of apps and other wearable tech.
