AAM AADMI V/S TERRORISM
Terrorism, a word which some people sadly (and wrongly) associate with some religions and faiths, has appeared a lot more than usual in the newspapers recently and has been discussed on forums with renewed vigor. A word so powerful that can cause rifts between communities and make the innocent suffer for something they couldn’t even think of in their worst dreams.
A lot about fighting terrorism and making world a safer place has been spoken on both national and international levels but don’t these measures fall under the category of being reactive rather than being proactive. In order to be proactive we need to dig deeper and understand that such inhuman and destructive activities aren’t performed by an extraordinary human having superpowers but by someone whose mind was influenced by an exceptionally powerful manipulator.
Someone who was disappointed by the way society treated him/her, who was frustrated to the level that he/she thought that taking the route of violence, will make the world a better place even if they are not a part of it. We as the habitants of the world we live in, have a moral responsibility to treat people around us with respect they deserve for who they are instead of stereotyping the whole community for being a symbol of violence.
“Every penny counts” is a well-known saying; you might have heard it a zillion times. Likewise “Every effort counts too”.
Here’s what we can do on a personal level to fight terrorism:
- We would RESPECT THEIR RELIGION AND FAITH:
The most powerful weapon of the manipulators in propagating terrorism is religion. They make people fight against each other on the basis of their religion or communal rivalry. Let’s pledge to give up religious intolerance and respect the other faiths.
Image Source - We won’t let OUR RELIGION BE A TOOL FOR MANIPULATION:
We need to make ourselves emotionally strong to prevent any XYZ manipulator from exploiting our emotions for their own personal gain.
Image Source - We won’t BELIEVE AS SOON AS WE READ IT:
We can’t deny that we most of time tend to believe things without digging deeper. Got a message regarding injustice towards your religion, urging all to gather against others via the SHARE BUTTON weapon? SHARED IT. Why do we this? We need to keep in mind that what we think or share has an effect on everyone. Stop communal hatred, be more investigative.(Then share).
Image Source - We will DISCOURAGE RELIGIOUS RIVALRY AND INEQUALITY:
The moment we see someone trying to raise a religious issue that aims at dividing us we will raise a religious issue which united us (Remember the INDIAN editorial column dialogue from B.A.B.Y). We will also support anyone(not the only one belonging to our community) who feels that they are being treated in an unfair manner if it is in our power.
Image Source - We will be KIND TO EVERYONE:
I don’t know if you are kind or not(if not I won’t impose this on you) but in case your kindness is limited to a particular religious group then that rings a bell.
Image Source - We won’t indulge in STEREOTYPING:
Would you like to be blamed for a murder you did not commit? Then why do you blame the whole community for a massacre committed by a few who were merely or claimed to be or are being portrayed to be a part of that community. We need to stop stereotyping and work on forming opinions only after proper analysis.
Image Source - We will be THE GUARDIANS OF PEACE:
LASTLY we will never consider ourselves to be the hopeless creatures that aren’t competent enough to fight terror. WE ARE THE GUARDIANS OF PEACE because we work at the personal level and if we work towards establishing peace around us, we will see it around the WORLD too.

Terrorism is everyone’s problem and if we at least try to establish communal harmony we will destroy one extremely powerful weapon it primarily uses to inflict harm.
All we need to do is CHANNEL THE HUMAN INSIDE US and remember that UNITED WE STAND and DIVIDED we fall.
